CPASS student club to host Backyard Olympics

West Virginia University Coaches Club will hold the first Backyard Olympics on April 23, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. in the upper courts of the Student Rec Center.

Teams of two will play several sports-based activities and earn points based on participation, single wins and series wins. Games will include volleyball, tug of war, human bowling, cornhole, hacky sack, washers and more.

The first place team will win a custom set of WVU cornhole boards. Runners up team members will receive other prize items to be determined. The club will announce door prize winners throughout the event.

In case participants come hungry, they can fill up on bake sale items in the free area of the Student Rec Center.

The club will raffle two handcrafted coolers during the event. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets for $1 each or $10 for 15 tickets. Raffle winners of the coolers will be drawn at 3 p.m.

All proceeds from the Backyard Olympics support club travel expenses to the National Coaching Conference in Atlanta, GA.

Team registration is $5 per group. To register, please contact Ryan Callear by email at rtc0005@mix.wvu.edu, or by phone at 865-309-0735.
