Celebrating 150 Years of accomplishments at WVU

From humble beginnings as an agricultural college in 1867, West Virginia University has become a premier research institution with a focus on world-changing innovations that are making a lasting impact in the fields that matter most. During the past 150 years, WVU has been committed to educating and training future leaders, conducting groundbreaking research and performing public outreach and service.

As West Virginia University reflects on 150 years of accomplishments, join the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences on April 17, 2017, 2 p.m. in the CPASS main lobby as the college kicks off a week of celebration. Special guests will include the WVU Mountaineer, local CPASS graduates and Olympic medalists.  Dean’s Advisory Board students will host an online auction fundraiser during the reception.

On Tuesday, April 18, the college will focus on achievements during the current academic year. Lifetime Activities will host complimentary access to the Stansbury Loft, 4-8 p.m., for all faculty, staff and students. The college will acknowledge donor and alumni support on Wednesday, April 19, with Lifetime Activities hosting a free noon swim at Natatorium.

The theme switches to research on Thursday, April 20 when the college highlights undergraduate and graduate accomplishments during Research Day, 3-4:30 p.m., main lobby, CPASS building. Once again, Lifetime Activities will invite guests to visit Stansbury Loft for complimentary access, 4-8 p.m.

As a final day of celebration, Friday, April 21, CPASS will promote new majors and programs, including Mountaineer Quest and the Multidisciplinary Studies major. Lifetime Activities will offer a complimentary noon swim at the Natatorium. Join CPASS for a weeklong series of events, April 17-21.
