PETE grad program offers competitive edge for Kaitlin Ulicny

We asked Kaitlin Ulicny how the CPASS Physical Education Teacher Education graduate program enhances her career goals. Ulicny feels confident that her decision to add to her degree portfolio by enrolling at WVU will give her the competitive edge for success. 

What program are you enrolled in at WVU?

Physical Education Teacher Education (online)

How did you become interested in this field of study?

I have always had a passion for working with kids, and the unique positive impact physical activity can reflect within all learning environments and lifestyles.

What is your current position?

I am currently a middle school PE teacher. During my typical day I teach about six classes all PE based.

What is your favorite part of your job? What is the most challenging?

My favorite part of my job is working with and getting to know the students inside and outside of the gym. The most challenging part of my job would be learning student’s names. There are a lot!

Why did you choose WVU?

WVU has a great physical education program. When I was applying for schools it’s safe to say I did my research.

How does this graduate degree fit in to your life plans?

I plan on extending my education into the near future with a doctorate degree in school administration.

What have you learned (or are learning) that has made the biggest impact in your work?

All students learn differently. Therefore, it is essential to provide students with various forms of instruction to meet all learning needs.
