The 2021 WVU Day of Giving was an important effort for CPASS, raising $40,288 for the College, while West Virginia University generated more than $11.9 million — a new Day of Giving Record. The fourth annual event, held March 3, encouraged students, faculty, staff and friends of WVU to provide critical funding to ensure the continuation of numerous opportunities for growth.
Excitement grew with every minute, tracking the donations as they rolled in, knowing that contributions support student success initiatives such as the development of the CPASS Student Services Center that provides tutoring, career services and mentoring.
Additionally, gifts benefit a diverse and inclusive community, while strengthening student scholarships and programming designed to provide hands-on industry experiences for students.
During the 24-hour online timeframe, CPASS raised $32,688, with a $1,500 bonus for the Amount Raised Leaderboard Challenge, placing 25th among other units. CPASS also placed tenth for the Participation Leaderboard Challenge, receiving 173 gifts and a $3,000 bonus. Finally, CPASS placed third overall in the Recurring Gifts Challenge (logged between 10 and 11 p.m.), receiving six gifts and a $1,000 bonus.
Thanks to our donors for their generosity during this important event. CPASS faculty and staff also participated in the giving campaign, showing their passion to create enhanced opportunities for our students. This has been especially important during the pandemic.
